Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and Cyber Security Consultant to join our team in Montgomery, AL . The assessment of security policies, procedures, templates, standards, guidelines, and will perform third-party security assessments of Security and Privacy control implementations. The job will be performed onsite in Montgomery, AL. Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Cybersecurity Principles and Practices - understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53.
2. Technical Proficiency - Basic understanding of operating systems and familiarity with virtual machine (VM) environments, system and component hardening, as well as basic network concepts, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and other security protocols.
3. Risk Management - Knowledge and ability to use risk assessment tools and methodologies, with experience in identifying vulnerabilities and threats to information resources.
4. Procedure Development - development and documentation of security procedures in alignment with agency requirements through coordination with process owners.

Required Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in Information/Cyber Security, supporting security measures for networks, systems, and data.
• Hands-on experience with security products such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, endpoint protection solutions, log aggregation/SIEM tools, or similar.

Education Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security fields.
