Overview Monitor Technology position at MD Anderson Cancer Center, part of the Telemetry/Thoracic/Cardiovascular Unit, a 32‑bed surgical telemetry unit caring for postoperative patients who may develop arrhythmias. Shift 3 x 12 hour shifts: 7 pm to 7 am, including rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions Continuously observe patients and identify changes in cardiac rate or rhythm. Maintain accurate documentation of EKG/cardiac rhythm, non‑invasive blood pressure, and pulse oximetry readings in telemetry logs. Promptly report changes in cardiac rhythm to nursing staff. Document all admissions, discharges, and transfers with associated telemetry logs. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Qualifications Required education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred education: Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia course. Required experience: 1 year of prior experience in EKG/cardiac monitoring. Required certification: BLS – Basic Life Support upon hire.
