College Marketing Advocate

Join The Orchard as a paid part-time employee, where you will represent and promote our distributed artists in your college community. Your role involves advocating for 5-10 artists each month and engaging in various promotions around your campus using both digital and in-person marketing strategies. As a key influencer in your area, you'll collaborate with local businesses, record stores, DJs, promoters, and student organizations to create buzz and excitement around our artists. This position offers you a chance to host listening events, organize campus activations, and create compelling digital content, gaining firsthand experience in the music industry while supporting artists across diverse genres.

Start Date: June/July 2025

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with local influencers, such as college radio stations, DJs, and student organizations, to promote The Orchard's artists through reviews, radio plays, and interviews.
• Establish and maintain a vibrant social media presence that showcases the artists you represent, utilizing provided digital assets while also creating original content.
• Implement marketing initiatives at local record stores, lifestyle shops, and on campus to engage potential fans.
• Research and identify appropriate apps, forums, and networks favored by the 18-24 demographic for each artist.
• Attend and gather insights at local and campus events that will best promote our artists.
• Participate in artist shows, distributing promotional materials and collecting fan feedback.
• Submit detailed reports on your marketing strategies, successes, and initiatives for each campaign.

Who You Are

• An Undergraduate Student currently enrolled in a 4-year university with at least two years left until graduation.
• Capable of managing your hours and accountable for your responsibilities.
• Passionate about music with a keen understanding of how your peers discover and enjoy music, along with a strong interest in music business and marketing.
• Familiar with social media marketing trends, creating content actively on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
• Available to commit 20 hours per week.
• A strong communicator who is well-written, well-spoken, and a team player.
• Have your own transportation and live within 30 minutes of Los Angeles.
• Flexible to adjust your schedule for team meetings and artist tours.
